Hey there friends,

From this moment on our train is gone and is now riding into the sunset...

To cut a long story short:

I decided to close and shut down the BP Forums in the next few days/weeks. The reason for this is... The financial crisis hit me in a very hard way and I have to watch where my money goes. Some will say it's only 15 bucks per month, yes it is, but with my very low income these days I guess I can't afford it anymore. Well actually, I know I can't...! Sad but true! By the look of it, the economic situation has no intention to spare the train simulation community.

You know, it really drives me nuts because I love the MSTS community and you guys deserve a lot of respect and appreciation. As some of you might know my health condition is in a very bad shape since a few months. This is the second reason for my decision...! My MSTS activity is not enough anymore due to those health issues. I have to step back for a while to cure my illness. So I will be off for the community for quite a while. My PM inboxes and e-mail address will be disabled, as I have not a single chance to respond to the countless PM's and e-mails with my current health condition.

I feel really sorry for this, believe me, but I can't see any silver lining on the horizon for now.

Don't be sad when the day has come where we have to say goodbye and farewell. Be sure, life goes on! And so will the rest of the MSTS community. From time to time you will see me on train-sim.com. But only time will tell when the moment has come for my full MSTS revival.

Maybe the forums will come back one day. Who knows...  At any rate, everything will be stored on a CD. And if I can see just a tiny chance to keep the forums up and running in the next few days I will do. Keep your fingers crossed!

<<< I want to thank everybody here for the loyalty over the years and all the support you gave me. You guys rock!!!>>>

Farewell, adieu and sayonara....

Can the forum be transfered into someone else's name that could pay for it for the time being? If not, thats too bad.

It sure was fun being here while it lasted! Hope you get better soon Tom! Good luck!

Thank you very much Barry! :)

I think it could be transfered. That should not be a big problem. All you need is a new and valid credit card number.

If it were possible I would do it for the next few years. Sure! But my card expired last month and I can't order a new one with my current situation. Maybe someone is able to help out as a second administrator here.... Dunno! But that would be more than cool! Well, we'll see! Friendship mostly ends if the dollar is tight. At least, this was my experience. ;)

Yay! Cool! Actually, it's just $7.95 per month. I forgot about that. It's between 11-15 Swiss francs. Mixed it up!

Shoot you a line very soon!

Sorry to hear the news Tom as I really enjoy this forum. It is what I consider my MSTS home and it always will be even if it is still not around in the coming weeks.

Dont feel bad Tom.....Alot of people in the world are having money issues. You aint alone when it comes the money issue. I wish I could help, But things are very tight on Eileen and I side. Not as tight as the last 6 months were (July 08 through Jan 09) But we still have to watch what we spend our money on at this moment. You could say that the collar was loosen a little bit compared to the last 6 months and I know my wife Eileen and I will still have to watch the money spending for atleast another 6 to 12 months before we feel comfortable again money wise.

Hopefully, Someone can take over or help out with the payments of this forum, So we dont see this forum die. I guess only time will tell.

Alright cool. Yeah I hate the currency differences, easily confused at times.

Thanks so much guys! :)

I know everything can change in 2 or 3 months. The only problem for now is, my bank won't allow me to have the credit card renewed. Tried everything over the last few days without any success. :X And to pay the charges for this forum you require a valid credit card.

I guess we can make it if someone can help out for a while. It would be shame to see another good thing go away.

Please stay tuned I'll keep y'all informed. ;)

Hi Tom, Is there anyway we could set up something like a PayPal account so we could all donate? I'm old, retired and broke, but I could come up with a few bucks a month. But most importantly take care of your health.

Take care Jim

Tom, thank you for this wonderful ride.  However, I'd do anything to keep it from ending.  I'm willing to donate funds to keep the forum going, but I'm very sad to hear its pending closure.

I hope that your health (and pockets) improves in the very near future.  Best of luck to you my friend.

Very good idea Jim....If a paypal account is set up somehow. I think I could toss in a couple bucks here and there. Of course, I couldnt do it every month.

I'm going to make an offer. If someone can set up an account for Tom thru Pay-Pal, I'll donate enough to keep it open for the first six months.......

I have read that the forum can also be paid via PayPal. Can someone create such a Paypal account?

How does this work?

Hi Tom, I have a paypal account. You need a credit card to create an account. Is there a way you can forward your bill to me and I can pay for it with my account?

Hi Jim,

I already asked the forum hoster for this. Hopefully I will get a reply soon.
